Books, Books and More Books

Back again ...

So what's on my nightstand these days? Well, I'm in the middle (literally) of three books at the moment. Every so often I'll reread the Harry Potter series, just because I love them so much. They're so well written, entertaining, and every time I read them I pick up something I missed the previous six or seven times ... ;)

I'm also reading My Utmost for His Highest, which is a daily devotional book written by Oswald Chambers.

My other fiction selection is a book called Proof of Intent, written by William J. Coughlin (who is no longer with us) and Walter Sorrells, whom I've had the pleasure of meeting (and he's a really great guy).

I used to stand in awe of those people who could actually read more than one book at a time. I couldn't figure out how they did it without getting all confused. Now I know, because the trick is, it's really not all that hard. Obviously you don't read them simultaneously. That would just be silly. But I read a little of each for a few minutes each day, and with the variety of genres, it's not hard to keep them straight.

So read a book or two ... or three ... and I'll catch you next time.

  1. I am always reading about 3 books at a time. I'm either reading a different one at a different place, like one in the truck when I'm stuck waiting on someone or one in the bedroom, one in the kitchen while waiting on the food to cook. I guess I always need a book in my hand. I also get bored with some books and need a break with some thing else for a bit. Right now I'm reading The Wednesday Sisters, Breakneck, and The Night in Question. Those on top of working on two of my own. It's the way my mind seems to work.
